June 1st - Wilbur Wright 100th Year Memorial ServiceAt 3pm on June 1st, 2012, 100 years to the minute, Historic Woodland Cemetery, along with local Aviation and Historical groups, hosted a memorial service for Wilbur Wright, who is interred on our grounds in the Wright Family plot. The Wright family was in attendance, as well as many city and state dignitaries.Neil Armstrong was a keynote speaker, while Rick Young gave the Eulogy. Dr. Wendy Deichmann presented the service and Mayor Gary Leitzell proclaimed June 1st the official "Wilbur Wright Day".

April 11th  Woodland Staff Earn Certifications

April 12th -   Woodland Voted "Jewel of the Gem City"

Woodland was pleased to learn of our selection as a 2012 Jewel of the Gem City historic organization. Woodland was selected from among 60 nominees along with Preservation Dayton and John Gower. The First Place award recognizes Woodland's leadership in preservation, restoration and education in the Miami Valley and is sponsored by the Dayton Women's Club, The Engineers Club and The Friends of the Arcade. The 3 inductees will be honored at a dinner at 6:00pm on June2, 2012. For tickets: call Dottie Moyhan at 937-369-5116. Our thanks to Barbara O' Hara who nominated Woodland for the award.
